Book Review: White Fang by Jack London ( White Fang Survival and Redemption )

Still, “White Fang” by Jack London is a great story revolving around a valuable wolfdog that graduates from the state’s primitive savannah. It is a novel that narrates the themes of survival, the relation with nature, and man’s relation with animals since 1906.

The story begins with the Yukon Territory of the nineteenth century throughout the Klondike Gold Rush. White Fang is a novel that illustrates the experience of a wolf, the main character of which, like his mother, is a wild wolf. Early life is lived as a struggle wherein he is endeavoring to live in this rather unfriendly world. The author’s writing paints a very picturesque picture of the wilderness which is the home of beasts. The reader feels blood cold winds and still snow fields which reveal the conditions that white fang has to go through.

White Fang as a puppy knows love as well as any level of abuse that a poor animal could ever have to endure. One day he loses his mother, and afterward, he is surrounded by people called humans. It is there that he faces both good people and people who can kill each other with their bare hands. Develops his character and imposes their vision of the world on him based on how they treat him. London does an excellent job of painting a picture of the interconnection between humans and animals, of hope and love restoring and suffering bringing despair and pain.

This seems to be one of the turning points of the book since White Fang is sold to the Native American people. At first, he is unkind and even has to go through the ring and fight with other dogs for fun. Such a part of the story is rather painful since it is always painful to recall the moments when animals have to suffer. But it also proves that White Fang is a very powerful and resistant creature as well as it belongs to the Fangs family. He is trained to fight and to live but this training also brings hate in him towards human beings.

The novel finds a positive note the moment White Fang meets Weedon Scott, a humane and sympathetic man. White Fang is full of husks kingdom but Scott sees the good in this dog and always shows him kindness and affection. This turned White Fang around, he CBD believes and starts to rely on the character. Scott again being very patient and gentle with White Fang helps him find the lost feeling of friendship. Toyed through Scott, London tells the audience that love and empathy between different species exist.

London uses very descriptive words when writing and this explains why he chose to make his base of operations in London. He successfully depicts wildlife as well as the feelings of the characters. The main strength of the storyline is that the hardness of the surrounding world is jumping out against the background of the genuine forgiveness of the people. All readers will surely cheer up for White Fang as he comes into possession of his troubles and gradually changes his mode of living.

Not only do we get acquainted with the life of a stained and dangerous wolfdog in the novel “White Fang,” but also learn about the value of compassion, honesty, and the function of redemption. Apart from that it imparts many things in life that people have to learn, tolerance is one of them, which makes it very suitable for people of all ages. The story of moving from the wilderness to acquiring a home is well understood and augurs well with the triumph of love over forces of evil in society.

Therefore, “White Fang,” by Jack London, is a book, which deserves to be read by anybody who appreciates the classical. I can tell you that one about a young girl, the story lingers in your mind. Everybody enjoys a good story about animals or survival, and with “White Fang” you cannot be left indifferent.
