CO2
Movie Review: CO2 ( Environmental Crisis Thriller )
“CO2” is a powerful drama about a small American coal town facing a devastating disaster. The movie is based on a true story and shows a community gradually dying out due to a deadly vapor. In addition to that, the movie depicts the emergent phobia of the townspeople though it also focuses on the themes of coaling and environmentalism in the larger sense.
The film starts with a view of the coal town and especially focuses on the unity of people living in this town, and their routine activities. This is mostly seen through an inviting backdrop of scenes of people in their homes, children playing, friends laughing, and families. However, the quiet environment turns sour when some strange events start to happen. People present with complaints such as coughing, breathlessness, and very bad headache(s). The viewers are concerned while the inhabitants of the town try to open the source of the impending tragedy.
Over time, however, much of the plot is centered on a few explicitly identified characters who act as its main motors. Among them is a local doctor, who started to pay more and more attention to his patients’ health. He makes observations out of the symptoms of fear and starts to feel that something extraordinary is going on in the town. His energies to get details result in a dangerous trip through which he discovers the truth concerning the mysterious vapor. The doctor’s personality is realistic; he stands for the battle of the right cause against the odds.
However, another minor character worth is a young journalist who is willing to get the story out. She tries to talk to the affected residents as well as spends a lot of time in search of information. She is important in reminding the reader of the dangers of neglecting journalism as a medium of presenting hidden perils that the town in question is facing. There is always great chemistry between the characters and when the characters become more real, the film is even better.
The speed of “CO2” is perfect, the tension is slowly amplified as the situation begins to look worse and worse. There are many good uses of cinematography to depict a foreboding feeling about the town, particularly when the vapor is first appearing. The special effects of the film used concerning the vapor are sufficiently ominous and contribute to the creation of a specific tensest. There is also an excellent use of sound effects, which give the Bonus Levels an eerie feeling you have with fear.
Another striking factor about the piece entitled “CO2” is that it presents one of the most vital focuses of the environmental problems of today – the effects of coal mining. This paper looks at the measures taken in the movie and the uncertainties of mining companies in protecting the society in which they work. It makes the viewers reason with themselves and explains the impacts of industrial activities on health and the environment.
In totality, “CO2” is an intelligent movie that adds suspense and a socially relevant theme to the pot. It is about how a small town adapts to a disaster, as well as about the consequences of ignorance of environmental problems. The cast is excellent and the story is captivating, and timely.
Watching this movie is very good because it forces us to remember and value the community and the nearness we need to take to protect our environment. Regarding this, anyone who loves drama pieces and has the desire to be provoked on the issues of social themes should rush and watch “CO2”. It is provided that if a viewer watches “CO2” with and/or without any interest in environmental issues, they are sure to be impressed by this movie.
