The Lady of Heaven – Movie Review ( “Historical religious drama film” )
The Lady of Heaven is a historical and religious drama that teaches the fans about the life of Lady Fatima—the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad and the problems she had to face. Arrived in 2021 the film adds a more positive approach with the elements of arcs, valuable as lessons of forgiveness, strength, and focus on nonviolence in the case of injustice. This film narrates classes of stories and the reason its existence is to attempt to map it with conflict of historical antecedents and present-day issues of violence.
The movie’s storyline is split into two timelines: One was based on the historical story of the lady Fatima while the second one was based in modern Iraq. In the modern part of the play, a boy called Laith loses his mother in a terrorist act and then is adopted by an old woman who recounts to him the story of Fatima. And as she narrates the story, which is the story of Lady Fatimah and the lessons of patience and faith Laith derived that from the gentle story, he too has to overcome all his griefs and hardships.
The figure of the Lady of Heaven emphasizes the great suffering of Lady Fatima and the oppression she endured after the death of her father. This ranges from her experiences as a woman striving to maintain her faith, and her family, in the middle of conflicts and power struggles. This play tries to portray her as a survivor and virgin woman and tries to give her the role of symbol of peace and justice in Islamic religion. Instead, it is an emotional appeal piece that seeks to emphasize the importance of those values in both the past and today.
Where one can look at, the film is very bright, with good work on costumes and an interactive background that gives a real view of the ancient period. The cinematography evidenced here helps to build up the whole picture and make the historical scenes seem more alive. This is a good work of contrast because the audiences are easily able to differentiate between the ancient and the modern time settings.
